That's it and that's all till 2012! Thanks to all the non racers who showed up and started what was a super dry amazing course that turned into one VERY cold, wet, and truly an epic ride for some of the non racers out there past the 3hr mark! I can't express how happy I am to have put another MFXC to rest, and thanks to everyone for helping us promote a FREE competitive outlet for MO's MTB racers and helping grow responsible grassroots racing here in our great state. Be sure to visit www.teamseagal.blogspot.com for a wonderful write of the days events and now to my thank you:
Our Sponsors: Pabst, Kona, The Hub, Velocity, Klunk, ByeKyle, Flacos Cocina without there continued support($$$$) and all the good swag these event couldn't be possible, so be to sure to pay them a visit even if it's just to say thanks...especially for making the FREE t-shirts possible!
Team Seagal: I can't tell you all how much this team means to me as a racer and non promoter. Without their support and yes everyone on the team helps in some way or another. I would not only be able to pursue these grassroots efforts, but probably wouldn't even have the ideas and plans in place to pull them off. I am happy to be a part of the best JERKS I know.
MFXC Volunteers: T Tox, Matt G, Greg, Jim D, Strove F, Brad W, Nico. You all know how you helped in some form or another over the past few weeks and without your continued support of my non racing I don't know how I would pull it all off.
Trophies: Tom Lauria(Non Racer Extraordinaire) being the legend of Superior Attitude and State of Mind that he is he decided that for MFXC2011 he would take it upon himself to create some truly AWESOME trophies, and for this we are truly grateful! Thanks again for the display of what it means to be a part of Grassroots racing in MO!
T-shirts: Jeremy Plemon for the design and digital work, and Attitude designs for putting his work on some cloth! Truly Baller!
PBR: 6cs of beer never tasted so good!
Velocity: Bottle traps, Bottles, T-shirts!
Flaco's: $25GC for top Female, Sasha I'm free this Friday for some taco's!
ByeKyle: Thanks for the simple straps!
Non Racer's: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for not only going along with my non rules, but truly showing that what we have here in MO is not only something very special but really and truly something that is growing. This is the 2nd of many MFXC's to come along with some moar non racing currently in R&D here at TSHQ for 2011 and BEYOND.

The Forecast.... AND BEYOND!
We here at Team Seagal HQ are stuck betwixt a rock and a hard place. But since this is Team Seagal we are talking about, it's not a rock, but rather a sniper hidden away in a secret crow's nest holding a Barrett .50 cal rifle. And rather than a hard place, it's Criss Angel's hard....
So what I'm trying to say here is that we're stuck between the possibility of calling this thing on account of weather, or holding it and getting more rain and thunderstorms whilst out on course.
Regardless, we will be down there and the course will be fully marked Saturday, ready to go. The course will have both yellow caution tape in strategic spots, and yellow chaulk. Look for it. However, the cue sheets that we had made are now not really very useful as we have changed the start. The start line was going to be at the Council Bluff boatramp like last year, but since the trail is flooded in many spots, we will now be starting and ending at the DD/32 trailhead parking lot, which allows you to end at your car.
***SINCE THIS PARKING LOT IS SMALL, PLEASE CONSIDER PARKING AT THE COUNCIL BLUFF BOATRAMP AND COMBINING CARS!!!***
Of course we VERY much want this non-race to go down - we want it at least as much as Criss Angel wants first boners. We'll be paying close attention to the forecasts, which have so far been mixed. Some links to check:
Weather.com - as of Friday night, the this source shows weather not really becoming a factor until after 3pm on sunday:
http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/USMO0055
weather station at Council Bluff:
http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=63623&MR=1
Weather.gov:
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Belleview&state=MO&site=LSX&textField1=37.683&textField2=-90.75&e=0
We are planning on setting a go/no-go time cut-off of around 5 pm on Saturday. Don't get scared - come down and party in the woods! We'll be at the campgrounds!
If you finish the non-race on one of these fucking things, you automatically win. And by win, I mean fail. At life:

MFXC Recon
Greetings. The Crotch here, and I bring news from the middle of the fork. Today, myself, Stormy, Norcward, and the newly christened "Strove" ventured down south for a better look at where we will be Saturday and Sunday. We even met up with an esteemed colleague, Brad Wadlow. In light of all the rain that has been happening, we are very optimistic. And by that, I mean that it is pretty much just going to be weather that will be the deciding factor as to whether or not this thing is going down. Because if the trail on Sunday is like it was today, (Thursday) then we are in for a treat. Just bring socks and a sand-free vag-hole because the creeks WILL definitely have more water in them. However the chances for mud are about as good as Criss Angel trying to impregnate a woman. And by that, I mean that he only tries to impregnate dudes. Regularly.
Look at some of these photos from today, then listen what what I'm gonna tell you.
Small footbridge near the CB boatramp:
Crossing the creek at the above trail intersection:
On South Trace, jut before the Middlefork intersection:
That bridge has been out for at least a year or two, and this creek usually has water in it:
The creek at the bottom of the 2.75 mile descent from Hwy 32 to the first fire road:
Low water bridge at the bottom of the big gravel descent (as ridden on last year's course):
This was moving very swiftly, and the only way to cross it without getting swept away was to walk while holding the bike out of water, or blast through it at full speed:
This creek (towards the end of the trail) always has water, but this is more than usual. I found a fat hole in middle, and had to put an already-wet foot down.
Don't be a turd, like this one that was left on the floor of the boat-launch shitter:
Our assessment from today: awesome trails with plenty of chances for wet spray from creek crossings, and the occasional wet trail from some water draining down the trail. And all of these creeks usually have water in the anyway, but right now there is just a little more. Almost zero ruts, even less actual mud, but lots of soaked socks. Probably 90-95% of the trail was buff-master flash, and the other 5-10% showed signs of water having flowed down/over it at one point, or had a little trickle. My bike ended the ride cleaner than when it started. (But then, I haven't cleaned it all year.) The lake at Council Bluff is over the banks to the point where the loop trail is underwater in many spots. So we have slightly altered this year's course to avoid Council Bluff, and start-end at the DD/32 trailhead. More info to come. We feel great about the trail, and the only thing that is cause for concern is the weather. Please note the temps, expect to get yer feet wet, and check back here for updates, as there will be plenty.
We're going to be down there all weekend having a good time regardless, and since we already have your non-refundable "entry fees," we gonna make it rain! (Metaphorically.) For example, our newest official sponsor, Flaco's Coccina has donated gift certificates for the women's class! he's quite the ladies man.
Now let us all remember awesome video games of yore:

MFXC 2011 still raining, bring it on!
It's hard to stay positive with this rain, but it's what we do here at TSHQ. Plus with something as fucking radical as MFXC it is not an option. We are lucky to be surrounded by so many JERKS that understand just what I'm talking about and tonights short tale is about a few including a Middle Fork Local, and resident badass Brad Wadlow.
Future 2011 MFXC NON RACER, Brad W. Showing how to be a Jerk, and clearing some lumber.
Your feet will get wet, so leave the sand at home.
First Big Water X'ing Adams Creek, not bad considering.
Pictures are from today, trail is wet, but as we all know if any race course can take a drink it's MF. MF shotgun's Tstorms for breakfast and right now It's very thirsty, so let it drink up and get super buff/fast?! Either way yours truly, Coarch, Nico, and one Steve Freidman will be heading South tomorrow where some serious recon will go down. I will post moar pics, accurate course rating, mile marker course cue sheet(printable), schedule, and I hope a fuck load of middlefingers! Like I said I'm not calling anything till Saturday April 30 at 5pm via Dos Primos after preride #2. So stay positive and let's get ready to race!
We are not in the business of doing things that suck, so please trust in our Superior Attitude and State of Mind. We will reschedule if need be, but let's not think that way. Moar to come manana and thanks to Brad for todays recon and display of very jerky behavior! I will have much MOAR, so please return.

MFXC 2011 IS SUNDAY, SO STOP FUCKING RAINING ALREADY
With MFXC only 6 days away you may be saying to yourself where is this course map I was told i would have by now, well I personally apologize for that (not really this shit is free). Seriously though for those of you who may not know, well yours truly was doored on his commute to work 2 weeks ago and I have been a little occupied with Insurance co, physical therapy, xrays, muscle relaxers, etc. I am healing quick, new bike is on the way, and even though I haven't been able to ride I have some nice updates for this weekends event.
First let me just say that we must not fear of the past few days worth of shitty weather. We have seen some serious rain, but that's just helping polish the buff stuff that awaits us this weekend. I will also be headed down this Thursday with some serious jerks for some course recon, and again on Friday to set up HQ for the early prep work. I am not even thinking about canceling the event, so just plan on it. If it's a no go you will know Saturday by 5pm no sooner, so don't ask.
Now lets get to the good stuff.
Today when I made it home from my walk home from work...yeah walking sucks, but it still beats driving a car! I arrived only to see a gigantic box full of THESE FUCKING SWEET ASS SHIRTS!
I would like to thank our sponsors for making it possible for us to not only put on these events, but also allow us to provide FREE gear to all you wonderful non racers! Without their support none of this would be possible. Each registered non racer will receive the shirt size they ordered upon checking in either Saturday night at HQ or Sunday am at the boat launch as well as a course cue sheet. Speaking of course info well I am not able to supply the GPS tonight, but please check back this week for a printable map/cue sheet. For those of you who non raced last years MFXC the course is exactly the same with only one exception it's in reverse when you reach the first fire road (Adams Creek Road) we will be turning left instead of continuing onto the single track. This not only breaks the course up, but it's faster. I also feel that the single track on the return this direction is far superior, so get ready for a fire fight!
Stay positive, send good weather vibes South, and check back soon for details on GPS, Course cue sheet, sneak peak at custom 1 of a kind MFXC medals, limited edition team seagal socks available for a small fee, and schedule of events. If you want to know what I will be doing 100 times a day the next few days go to link below. See you soon Jerks, and let's get ready to non race.
